A Jewess in the Caribbean 🇩🇴

A Jewess in the Caribbean 🇩🇴

I sometimes wake up thinking, did I actually go to the Caribbean or is that just my good ol’ subconscious playing tricks on me again? And yet, as I review the evidence, (printed photos scattered around my room and that one questionable souvenir just sitting around), I can guarantee my trip’s legitimacy. With just four short hours between frigid New York and tropical paradise, I eagerly boarded my Newark flight bound for one of the most beautiful stretches of land on earth.

I stayed in a beautiful hotel centered in the La Altagracia Province of Bavaro, Punta Cana in the stunning Dominican Republic (DR). I’m kind of a geography nut so nitty-gritty details are in order…my apologies.

The hotel’s grounds were also home to beautiful local wildlife, which is where I made some new feathered friends.

Species from left to right: Great Egret, Green Heron, Hispaniolan Woodpecker, Palmchat (DR’s national bird), Yellow-Faced Grassquit, and Yellow-Throated Warbler.
